HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
STEP 0: Free INTRO CALL
We talk through where you are, what you’re struggling with, what you want to become better at, how I can help you get there, and most importantly - whether this program is the right fit for you.
STEP 1: PERSONALIZED GAMEPLAN / Syllabus
If I think I can genuinely help, I’ll invite you to a FREE 30-minute session where I’ll walk you through my plan for you based on what we talked about, how I’d structure your development, and what your coaching roadmap will look like to ensure we are both on the same page. No payment or commitment from you until we’re clear what we are going to work on, and how long it will take to get there.
Step 2: 1-ON-1 COACHING
We turn that roadmap into action through personalized sessions, practice assignments, mix feedback, and ongoing refinement. Whether we’re working in person on club-standard equipment or chat over video meetings, every session is built around your goals, weaknesses, and progress.
Step 3: PROGRESS + FEEDBACK
This program is NOT meant to last forever. In fact, it is designed to help you accomplish your goals in as few sessions as possible. We continuously assess what’s improving, what still needs work, and adjust the program as your DJing develops.
Step 4: CONTINUED SUPPORT & MENTORSHIP
Your progress doesn’t stop after the program. Ongoing mentorship is available through follow-up sessions, mix reviews, and strategy check-ins as new challenges come up.
Bonus: Shadowing Opportunity
When timing and venue access allow, you may have the opportunity to shadow me at a live show and see the concepts we’ve worked on applied in a real club environment when I’m playing near you.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Most problems and challenges you face today, I’ve had them before. From playing at empty bars, frat parties where you can barely even hear the music, to the first slot on a club lineup of 12 DJs (yes this is real and we will make sure you don’t have to go through this humiliation ritual). No matter where you are in your DJ journey, I’ve almost certainly been in your shoes once. I’ve gone on to play in front of thousands of people, music festivals, and the best nightclubs in the country. I will share with you everything I know, what worked for me, what advanced my career, and what traps you should avoid as you navigate this exciting yet tricky industry.
-
Very. There isn’t one identical curriculum that every student follows. Your roadmap is built around your experience, strengths, weaknesses, goals, musical taste, and the kind of DJ you want to become.
-
Depending on your goals, we will discuss this on our initial call. You don’t need a professional club setup to start. We can work with the equipment you currently have and discuss what upgrades, if any, actually make sense for where you’re trying to go.
-
We will be using Serato or Rekordbox depending on your goals. Both offer free versions.
-
Both. Online sessions work well for strategy, mix reviews, library organization, set planning, career discussions, and many technical concepts. In-person sessions allow us to work hands-on with equipment and simulate a more realistic booth environment.
-
In-person coaching is based in New York City and scheduled based on availability. We’ll go over location and logistics before your first session.
-
Yes. A lot of the coaching is designed for DJs who already know the basics but feel stuck between “I can mix” and “I’m ready to confidently play a real room.” We will focus on song selection, open-format mixing, crowd reading, set construction, performance, and developing stronger instincts. For those who are confident technically, but are struggling to get gigs, we will certainly cover that as well.
-
Yes, but the goal is bigger than memorizing tricks. We’ll work on understanding why a transition works, when to use it, and how to develop enough tools that you can make decisions naturally instead of relying on the same moves every set.
-
That depends on your coaching plan, but weekly or biweekly sessions usually give you enough time to practice between meetings without losing momentum. We’ll decide on the cadence that makes the most sense for your goals.
-
That’s completely fine. Coaching is available online, and many of the most important parts of DJ development—mix analysis, music selection, set construction, strategy, library organization, and career coaching—work very well remotely.
